One of our first Sidekick models grew from our three primary goals for design: Sustainability, Accessibility and beauty. Beauty is seen through screens of history and culture. Sustainability is becoming codified by governments for the design of all buildings. Accessibility, though also regulated for multifamily buildings and when public money is involved, is largely misunderstood and often ignored. Nearly all new merchant built  homes have a barrier right at the front door, a step that prevents entry by anyone in a wheelchair. I plan to elaborate in future blogs, for instance do you know how room count impacts accessibility? More to come.
